  • Attached rotifers were useful metazoa in biological treatment of wastewater. Studying on predator features of Habrotrocha sp. which is the typical bdelloid rotifer was to set culture systems and create optimal growth conditions of Habrotrocha sp. in the biological treatment process. For getting the predator features of Habrotrocha sp.,the experiment selected wheat flour that is economical and available as food to culture Habrotrocha sp. instead of bacteria. The experiment showed that particle size of suspended particlewas important for Habrotrocha sp. toselect food. When the particle size of suspended flour was 2.5 μm,the population of Habrotrocha sp. grew fast. And Habrotrocha sp. could grow normally at the particle size of suspended flour less than 10 μm. The result stated that Habrotrocha sp. could remove the suspended particle which could not be removed by natural sedimentation, and the result laid the foundation for in-depth studying.
